The Boise chapter of Soroptimist once again organized the annual holiday gift project for local foster children, partnering with the community and local businesses like Alturas Homes.
What is the Foster Children Holiday Project and Special Needs Fund?
Every year during the lead up to the holiday season, the Boise chapter of the Soroptimist club coordinates between the department of Health & Welfare and the community to provide holiday gifts for local area foster children who would otherwise not receive items.
This year 426 foster children will receive 1278 holiday gifts as a result of this program.
What is Soroptimist ?
The Soroptimist International of Boise is the local chapter of the Sorptimist International of the Americas, a global volunteer organization working to improve the lives of women and girls through programs leading to social and economic empowerment.
Locally, they participate in programs which focus on the specific needs of our community.
Still Want to Get Involved?
Unfortunately, the holiday Gift Project is over for this season, however its not too late to donate cash, and of course they will be looking for gifts again at this time next year.
