The Fall Parade of Homes always brings crowds of visitors to our show homes and provides us a great opportunity to interact with home owners and prospective buyers. Paint colors - always a favorite topic - was of special interest this year, so I thought it would be fun to create a list of our favorite interior paint colors.
Sherwin Williams Repose Gray SW 7015 - We get asked about this color a lot especially the past few weekends at the
Fall Parade of Homes. If you went through our
Parade Home in Century Farms, you probably noticed it as a soft warm gray that added just enough dimension without taking center stage. It's the perfect neutral that pairs well with just about any color combination. A cult favorite for sure.
Sherwin Williams Agreeable Gray SW 7029 - Just to the right on the Sherwin Williams swatch is Agreeable Gray. Compared to Repose this color can be manipulated a lot because of it's more taupe-y undertones. It can easily find it's way to more of a mushroom tone with added browns, or if paired with charcoals and whites, can read more as a light warm gray. Either way, its a great option for a neutral soft gray tone that has been popular among our homeowners and well received in our spec homes.
Sherwin Williams Egret White SW 7570 - Although the color says "white", if placed next to a brighter white like Sherwin Williams Snowbound, you can tell that Egret has a nice light taupe tone to it. I especially love this color in homes with darker stained cabinets and accents to bring it back into balance without making the color scheme feel too hot and cold with the high contrast. This provides a subtle hint of warmth without being completely white...here at Alturas we loved it so much we painted our entire new office in it.
Sherwin Williams Snowbound SW 7004 - You don't have to tell me that white isn't a color, but around here Snowbound has become a staple. The reason I'm drawn to its clean bright aesthetic is because of it's ability to match the variety of white tiles and look sharp against grays, taupes and blacks without feeling like a blinding bright white thanks to its gray undertones. I used Snowbound in my whole house to provide a clean backdrop for my inherited artwork and collected accessories which helped make everything feel more cohesive and the pieces feel special even though it's all very random.
Benjamin Moore Revere Pewter HC-172 is a wall color that always gets positive feedback. This color can go more gray or tan or taupe depending on what's next to it and in a pretty dramatic way. It's warm undertones and deeper shade provide a nice contrast against crisp white trim. This is the color I recommend for clients who want their wall color to stand out but also go with everything they own. All together Revere Pewter is a fool-proof choice for any home to make it feel updated and warm.
